Fenoxaprop ethyl 9.3% EC is an inhibitor of acetyl carboxylase
enzyme.
Broadleaf species are naturally resistant to Cyclohexanedione and Aryloxyphenoxy propionate herbicides because of an insensitive ACCase enzyme. Similarly, natural tolerance of some grasses appears to be due to a less sensitive ACCase. Inhibition of fatty acid synthesis in grasses leads to drying and death of grasses.
